PROGRAM:

- 1st day: Terni - Amelia - Narni - Marmore Falls - Terni

Arrival in Umbria: at the Terni railway station if you choose the formula with private driver, in Amelia if you arrive with your own means. Morning dedicated to visiting the city of Amelia , an enchanting town whose foundation dates back to the year 1100 BC. It is probably one of the oldest inhabited settlements in central Italy. It is impossible not to notice the vast and imposing wall complex that surrounds the ancient village with various gates, such as the Porta Romana , Porta Leone IV and Porta Posterola which allowed access to the village. We continue our journey towards Narni , one of the most characteristic villages of Italy full of secrets and mysteries. We will visit the beautiful Cathedral of San Giovenale , built over 1000 years ago, we will admire the marvelous frescoes of the Capella Eroli and the Church, in the Roman-Gothic style, of San Francesco. We will reach the Nera river where we will be able to see the remains of the Ponte d'Augusto , which dates back to the 1st century BC. And finally, we recommend a visit to the famous Narni Underground* , one of the main attractions where we will travel through the various eras experienced by this city and discover its hidden and surreal side. After Narni we recommend making a stop in another delightful village famous for its renowned sources of mineral water – San Gemini. Free lunch. Afternoon dedicated to the visit of one of the highest waterfalls in Europe – the splendid Marmore Falls . We will find ourselves in front of an indescribable show that will take your breath away and we will get to know the secrets of the waterfall in a short itinerary (Note: the opening of the water in the summer months is at 3.00pm). Return to Terni. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

- 2nd day: Terni - Spoleto - Todi - Terni

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Spoleto , one of the most beautiful cities in Umbria. During the visit we will see: the splendid Cathedral and the Rocca Albornoziana , the very famous ancient Roman aqueduct transformed into the Bridge of the Towers, the Arch of Drusco and the Roman Theatre* which dates back to the 1st century BC Free lunch. Afternoon dedicated to a guided tour of Todi – a border town between Umbrians and Etruscans and known as "the most livable city in the world", even if the locals prefer to call it the "ideal city". Among the famous monuments there are: the beating heart of the city - the Piazza del Popolo , the complex of the Palazzo Comunale which houses the Pinacoteca Civica , the Lapidary Museum and the Etruscan Roman Museum, the Cathedral , characterized by a beautiful Romanesque facade and a long access stairway, the Temple of Consolation and the great Gothic church of San Fortunato. Return to Terni. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

- 3rd day: Terni - Orvieto - Terni

Breakfast at the hotel. Immediately afterwards we will leave for a guided tour of Orvieto , perched on a tuff cliff. It is one of the oldest cities in Italy with Etruscan origins. We will begin our visit from the splendid Cathedral *, one of the most famous monuments of the city with its admirable facade, decorated with mosaics and sculptures. We will not fail to visit the Underground City , full of wells and caves. The most famous is the Pozzo di San Patrizio* which gives us a surreal atmosphere. It's hard not to fall in love with this treasure trove of art and nature with its alleys, stately buildings and ancient houses, all built with tuff. Return to Terni. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

- 4th Day: Terni - Rome - Terni

Breakfast at the hotel. Immediately after departure by regional train to Rome Termini, then continuation by public transport to Piazza di Spagna from where you will begin the guided tour of the city. You will admire its grandiose monuments, the hundreds of churches and the spectacular fountains of Rome which outline its marvelous profile and which make it the city with the highest concentration of historical, archaeological and architectural assets in the world. You certainly can not miss a visit to the famous Spanish Steps , the Trevi Fountain , Caravaggio , the Pantheon and Piazza Navona . Time at your disposal to explore the city in comfort with the Roma24h ticket included. Return to Terni during the day by train.
